By now, I’m sure you have read dozens of articles on how to have a conducive home office. However, if you’re anything like me, the advice just doesn’t work out. I know that we are supposed to work at a table, professionally set-up with a neat background. But I’m sure many of us don’t have the luxury of space to have that room. While the dining table might seem like a viable solution, it tends to be noisy and unconducive. Before every video meeting, I waste 15 mins either clearing up my bed (which is in the background) or trying to find a space that looks decent.
Zoom has a solution for that. Their virtual background is designed to cover up any mess you might have behind you. However, I was never a fan, as I don’t like the generic background they provide. How professional is it to be floating around in space when talking to your boss? Instead, HiHello has provided a more elegant solution.
HiHello is an app that allows you to create virtual name cards. Using these cards, you can share your contact information seamlessly and easily without spending money on actual prints. They have now spotted the trend towards Zoom and created a customizable virtual background built off your e-name cards. With this virtual background, you can select clean-cut backgrounds that aren’t too over the top. Additionally, you can imprint your contact information into the scannable QR code. With this, you don’t have to worry about sharing your contact information, or even getting your name across to your client.
It is really easy to create too! Simply sign up for an account, and fill in the relevant information required to create your virtual name-card. It is completely free. Once done, simply hop on over to the tab Virtual Backgrounds for Zoom, and convert your card into a background. Personally, I prefer a minimalistic background, so it doesn’t draw attention away from my QR code and name. But they have a big selection, so you can be sure to find one that suits you!
